St. Andrew #518 E-News #V
Square Compass & Thistle

Dear Brethren,

One way or another it seems to have been a busy month:

I am now happy to say that in the aftermath of the relocation our site has now been crawled by most of the major search engines.  On Google we rank No: 5 for  the term"518".  Most brethren listed at one point or another on the site will be able to search for themselves (I've only tried this with Google), by prefixing their names with Bro.  But I should warn you that whilst trying this the #1 hit for Bro. Jason Robertson came up as "blogg of death", & listed on the page for Bro. Eric Grant was something referring to "The Lord Of Dogtown" ???

One of the most notable things I've added to the Website this month (for you the visitor anyway) is the "Web Journal", its basically a page where I'm keeping a sort of online diary of what's been added or changed.  No more fruitless searching for the new bits !!!

Also a Masonic Graphics Page, featuring the original Masonic artwork of Bro. Stephen McKim (Octagon Lodge #511 / Indiana USA).  I strongly recommend viewing this page, the graphics are outstanding.  Also on the page is a link to another website Helena #3 (Montana USA), where the Webmaster Bro. Blake Gardiner has amassed an impressive gallery of Bro. McKim's artwork.  Also a rather neat Masonic screensaver, which is free to download.
S&C Foliage & Rose

I have received 4 Awards for the site this month, & have presented our own award to 3 sites.  Both awards received & those presented can be viewed on their respective pages.  Also I've joined anther 2 Webrings.

Whilst on the subject of Award Winners, the Award I created for "Site of the Year" has a mini-poll.  The idea being that at the end of the year the site with the most votes gets the award (obviously), the problem is - not very many votes !!!  It'll be somewhat embarrassing presenting the award to someone with an opening line that says "Congratulations you got 4 votes in our mini-poll !?!?"  I can vouch that all the sites that have received our award are well worth visiting, so go visit, sign the Guestbook to record your visit, comeback & VOTE !!!

On the subject of Guestbook's, it would be nice to see a few more names in ours !!!

Also I would like to thank Bro. Tom Nibloe (Ugie 939) for signing Guestbook's & adding our site to the space provided for URL's.

The Honorary Members Degree will be held in October this year  (no fixed date yet, but it will be a Saturday), in the Chair of King Solomon PM Bro. Ron Simpson (Leask #1084) & the candidate Bro. John Wiseman.  Office Bearers are also yet to be determined.
