Still here "over the water", visited Lodge Oakwood 1444,on Tuesday past,16th, again made very welcome, witnessed an excellent EA degree, with slight variations from our own working,never-the-less,the content was the same,a degree worked to perfection. It was interesting to hear that candidates have to prove their competency in the previous degree by being subjected to a rigourous examination in open lodge before being thought worthy of advancement to the next degree,a process that may take some months to complete,(no simple test-card to learn). Tonight,(Thursday 18th) visited Lodge Woodlands 1157,again I was made very welcome, but had to work for a change, being given the job of Junior Deacon,-Fraternal greetings were exchanged at both visits. On the "518" web, again looking good, looks like the Web Master is punting for a job in the "Buchanie"-well done all. ( PS-- On the pictures of the Honourary Members Degree, special congrats must be due to our camera-man for his skill in editing/airbrushing some of the photo`s,no doubt making some of the subjects look good must have proved quite a challenge!!!)

Hello 518,I trust that all is well at the Lodge and that the meetings are going well, I visited another Lodge on Tuesday past, Lodge Oak Wood 1444,of The Grand Lodge of Texas,as it was only a business meeting no degree was worked,never-the-less I was made very welcome and passed on Fraternal Greetings of Lodge St Andrew on leaving. They intend to work an EA degree on the 16th November,so I will go along again to witness how teh other half carry out their work, it should be quite interesting. Planned for December is the annual convocation of the Grand Lodge of Texas ,to be held in Waco Texas on the 2 thro`4th,I have been invited by the RWM of 1157 to accompany them for one of the days, which I intend to do,should be quite a spectacle and something for me to write home about.- Again Duncan, keep up the good work on the site,

Great to see a couple of Lodges in Aberdeenshire East having websites - it brings me back to my roots when I was Senior Deacon in St James 256 in 1989 (ish). I moved to Australia, took the chair in Lodge Royal Stuart 893 (SC) in 1999-2000, and am currently Substitute District Grand Master of the District Grand Lodge of Western Australia under the Grand Lodge of Scotland. Nae bad for a Peterheid loon! (Hear that Alfie Davidson is now Prov. DGM - he was in the chair in 256 when I left.)
