Our 2010 Awards

St. Andrew #518 Working Tools Masonic Web Award

Award scheme created February 1, 2005

St. Andrew #518 Working Tools Masonic Web Award

For Masonic websites where the primary
language is English

St. Andrew #518 Lux et Veritas Masonic Web Award

Award scheme created July 1, 2005

St. Andrew #518 Lux et Veritas Masonic Web Award

For Masonic websites where the primary
language is not English.

The Lux et Veritas award was created to give recognition to the non-English language Masonic websites that are out there on the WWW, and to further recognise and promote Freemasonry as a Global Fraternity.

Unfortunately, neither I nor anyone I know speaks anything other than English. The websites credited in these pages can therefore only be assessed on a visual basis. Which I concede can cause problems.

Should you for any reason think any of the above awards to be inappropriate please send your reasons and comments to the Webmaster for further investigation.

Masonic Web Award Application Criteria:

The Awards Committee of Lodge St. Andrew 518 will be the final arbitrator in determining presentation of this award.

  1. We are sorry but only Constitutions and Bodies recognised by Grand Lodge of Scotland can be considered.

To check if your Grand Lodge is recognised follow this link [-CLICK HERE-] to go to the relevant page on the Grand Lodge of Scotland website.

  2. Easy viewing, good general layout. (Creative but not bogged down with graphics)
  3. Easy to understand navigation. (No excessive use of browser BACK button)
  4. If there is music, the OFF button should be very easy to find..! Sites that do not have an OFF switch (or it is not obvious) will have a musical note graphic placed alongside their link.
  5. Useful and interesting Masonic content. (Not just boring lists of P.M.'s & Office Bearers)
  6. Contact information.
  7. Must have a reasonable download time.
  8. Be complete & ready for viewing.
  9. All sites for the "Working Tools Award" must be in English.
Sites applying for the "Lux et Veritas Award", English translation service preferable, but not essential.
  10. If awarded the graphic must have a link back to www.standrew518.co.uk, the site in general not a specific page therein.
Whats the point of an award if you cannot verify where it came from..?
  11. Whilst not essential it would be considered a nice gesture if you sign the Guestbook.

NOTE:    Information about the applicant or website will not be shared or provided to anyone, except that a requirement of this award is that we be allowed to copy a suitable graphic from your site & post your website name and URL on our Winners Page.
